826 National — Youth Writing & Literacy ▼

Fanfiction can't be monetized (and we wouldn't have it any other way) but this event gets a lot of visibility and we wanted to use a little of that for something good. We rotate charity spotlights occasionally — if you know of one you’d like to see here, drop us a note on the sub.

826 National offers free creative writing programs, tutoring, and publishing for students aged 6–18. With federal arts funding increasingly uncertain, grassroots donations make a real difference to keeping efforts like these in existence.

You can also support writers through a user subscription, so you follow the writer as a whole (not just a specific work). If you found them through this event, tell them—they may not even know they were nominated.
